Packing for vacation can be challenging, especially in the dead of winter. First off, this time of year temperatures tend to drop substantially after sundown. Second, you really never know what you’re going to get. I mean a breezy 75 degree day can feel totally different than a stagnant one! While overpacking is always an option, I’m not into overweight baggage fees. So rather than investing in the transportation of a 55 pound suitcase, I thoughtfully invest in the pieces I put inside of it. Case in point: the perfect travel dress I’m wearing above (a recent find for my Christmas trip to Naples, Florida).
Remember that ruched LBD I told you I’ve been wearing/traveling with since early 2016? (FYI, they still sell that thing, so you know it’s good!) Well, this ribbed midi dress is on that level! It’s beyond comfortable, and although it appears to be fitted, it’s actually not. While it pulls in at the waistline, it’s looser below it, resulting in an extremely flattering silhouette. I’ll be perfectly honest with you all and admit that I’m not particularly fond of my stomach right now, but this dress doesn’t make me feel the least bit self conscious. In fact, it’s the exact opposite! I really do love it on…and I wish I didn’t have to wait until April to wear it again, haha. Side note, it’s true to size. I got a small.
I think it’s the perfect travel dress because, on top of being extremely comfortable, it could serve a variety of vacation purposes. You could use it as a swimsuit coverup, pair it with wedges for a nice dinner, or rock it with comfy sandals for a day of site seeing like I did. You could even wear it on a plane! Well, so long as your home base isn’t a mere 10 degrees like mine was for this particular trip, haha. I mean, you could…but I wouldn’t recommend it. 😉
Dresses hardly take up space in a suitcase, and they’re so easy to transition for varying temperatures (add a denim jacket or cardigan and voila)! Plus, like I said, they serve a ton of purposes! That’s why I love traveling with them. You can shop this perfect travel dress right here. It comes in 4 colors and is only $39! But before you go, head to the comments to tell me: Do you tend to overpack, or are you extremely strategic like me? I’m excited to hear what you have to say!
